The Senior Engineer performs the Engineering design function by applying his technical expertise in a professional manner in order to comply with prescribed objectives. The Senior Engineer may also supervise projects, in the role of a Project Engineer where he/she is responsible for verifying compliance with applicable codes, standards and Customer requirements through to the approval of drawings, designs and specifications. The function involves design layouts, design calculations, design reviews and design verification. The Senior Engineer shall supervise prototype testing to verify that the functional and design criteria are being achieved. In addition, the Senior Engineer shall be responsible for the supervision of allocated Technical personnel in an organised manner to ensure compliance with the Engineering Departmental Procedures which form part of the overall Quality System Manual. The Senior Engineer will be required to provide technical support to any other Subsea Department as required. Visit customers on an as needed basis to verify technical details of orders. Organises manpower allocation to meet agreed project timescales. Approve engineering designs for manufacture. Control allocated engineering time to meet project deadlines. Conducts engineering design reviews to establish best solution. Train subordinates to develop product awareness. Deputise for Principal Engineers / Engineering Manager
