As a Floorhand you will report to the Driller. Your main responsibilities will include: Handling drill pipes, casing & drilling equipment as instructed by the Driller or Assistant Driller. Perform work in the shale shaker room & carry out 1st line maintenance of equipment used for seperating mud Perform daily cleaning, housekeeping & maintenance work on the drill floor & in the shale shaker room Assist the derrickman in mixing mud & chemicals & keeping mud logs Carry out regular inspection of the derrick & related equipment Assist the mechanic with routine maintenance & lubrication
