DSND Subsea in short: is a leading underwater fabrication and construction offshore subsea contractor

DSND Subsea is a leading offshore subsea contractor for the international oil and gas industry. The company is one of the oldest companies traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange and has been listed since 1854. In 2001 the company changed its name from Det Søndenfjelds-Norske Damskibsselskap ASA – to DSND Subsea ASA. From its establishment, the company operated a shipping and ferry business between Norway and Hamburg until 1964. After a period of limited business activity, the company was in 1985 revitalized as an investment company active in the shipping industry. It produced good results year after year and paid dividends to its shareholders. DSND Subsea’s business gradually turned towards more offshore oil related investment, and by the early 1990s it had built up a controlling position in several dynamically positioned offshore vessels.
