Actively participate in the weekly rig meetings Ensure safe navigation of the vessel when on duty. Operate dynamic positioning (DP) equipment. Maintain Bridge and DP logbooks. Maintain the rig in a stable condition and at the correct draft and trim. Set up operational parameters for the DP system – ensure system data is correct. Advise the OIM and / or Stability Section Leader of potential position loss. Ensure that all defects and anomalies are reported to the OIM and relevant department heads. Maintain records of these and ensure that they are corrected adequately. Assist Technical Department in performance of Preventive Maintenance on DP equipment – ensure the system’s performance is not degraded by defective sensors. Assist Technical Department in performance of Preventative Maintenance of fire and gas detection equipment. Operate the ballast control system. Monitor Vessel Management System (VMS) and fire / gas alarms and call appropriate personnel for assistance. Responsible for the maintenance and setup of hydrophones and transponders. Using Riser Analysis create WSOG document for well planning. Ensure WSOG are followed while on location.
