Hydra Rig was established in early 1973 based in Fort Worth, Texas, as a manufacturer of oilfield equipment. Hydra Rig’s first product line and namesake is the Hydraulic Workover System, known in the industry as a "Snubbing Unit". This unique unit allows the workover of an oil or gas well to be performed under pressure without the use of "kill" fluids in the well which could result in well damage. Hydra Rig pioneered the Hydraulic Workover Rig and is the leading manufacturer worldwide. hydra Rig became part of the Varco family of companies in June of 2000, and is part of the Varco Coiled Tubing / Wireline Products Group
