Aker Drilling is a new rig company established by Aker in 2005. On contract with Aker Drilling, Aker Kværner is designing and building two identical 6th generation Semi-Submersible Rigs for harsh environment operations. The two rigs will be delivered ready for drilling in February and October 2008 respectively. The agreement with Aker Kværner also provide Aker Drilling with options for the construction of two additional semi-submersible rigs.
