The Scorpion Break Out - Make Up Dual Positioned Hydraulic Chain Tong is a self-maintained portable unit, designed to handle tools in either a vertical or horizontal position with special forklift slides and lifting eyes. Scorpion Tongs can be used in remote areas with no backup or lifting equipment. Some advantages of Scorpion dual position hydraulic tongs - a new concept in servicing down hole tools - include: compact, portable, self-maintained and self-contained; chain design enables the tong to safely handle tools, regardless of design or application; can operate in vertical or horizontal position in limited space; instantly change from breakout to make-up mode; handle a wide diameter range with same setup; no extra back-up or lifting equipment needed; powered by diesel (Yanmar), petrol engine (Honda), electric motor or air/hydraulic pump; and are ideal breakout tools for DTH hammers.
