Dacon AS was established as a diving company in 1979, under the name Dacon Sub Sea AS, by seven share holders who all worked actively in the company.
First Aid Courses
In 1980 Dacon started to arrange maritime first aid and rescue training courses for personnel on standby- and supply vessels. These courses contained a high degree of practical training, and they became the basis for all modern schools and training centres of maritime rescue technique.
These courses have also been exported to various countries,e.g. Canada, by instructing training pesonnel.
Dacon Rescue Equipment
Special knowledge of techniques and equipment for practical rescue has made Dacon capable of developing specialised equipment for rescue of casualties in man-overboard situations.
These systems are manufactured by Dacon and are being used in Norway and several other countries, especially by countries with offshore activity in areas with adverse weather conditions.
Rescue and Safety Equipment
Miscellaneous rescue- and safety equipment for standby vessels and oil platforms became a very important part of Dacon's business. Dacon have been responsible for several complete package deliveries, which includes all preliminary project work, development and documentation in addition to the actual equipment delivery.
